The Gothari Priestesses

The Gothari Priestesses are the diplomatic arm of Church of Gudheim. An all female sect, although they are focused on the expansion of their religion with missions, diplomacy and proselytizing, they are well trained warriors. They also select from their ranks the most fertile for kings and royalty with god blood, usually selecting those who have a history of god blood in their family. Even as a wife of a King, they serve the faith by protecting him, representing the faith in that kingdom as the public face, and by ensuring that the faith is honored in the ruling of the kingdom.

Public Agenda

To support the Gudheimic realm and those with the god blood. Gothari priestesses have been selected from families that are known to carry traces of the god blood. The High Priestesses are promised to their respective god blood king to increase the chances of the blessing continuing through their offspring. The priestesses are also sworn to serve and protect the god blood.

Similarly, the priestesses are sworn to help expand the reach of Gudheim, which often has them partner with The Valnad Order. In fact, many priestesses are attached to the Valnad ranks to provide religious, diplomatic and medical support. Fraternizing with the Valnad, or anyone without godblood, is forbidden.

Divine Origins

Founded at the time of the demigod prophets, the church of Gudheim has had its ups and downs, but has remained strong. It has cataloged the religious events since that time, though some records may have been lost.

Priesthood

Being a priest of Gudheim is a respected and honored profession, although not an easy one. It requires patience, the ability to read and write, and the ability to gain medical expertise. It also requires courage and the skills of a warrior, for the way of Gudheim is not one of pacifism, even for the women who worship the goddesses.
