The Common Tongue is known for being the language spoken by nearly all peoples of Aesalia. It is a simple text that incorporates elements of many other languages but principally draconic. The draconic core means that even localised forms of common can generally be understood by others with only a minor assimilation to the local verbal practices needed. The most distinct subdialect of Common is Undercommon which is a distinctly more guttural version of the language spoken in the Underdark.
Common uses the common script which uses a 26 letter alphabet with lower and upper case letters as well as accents on the letters which can alter the meaning and pronunciation of the words.
