Emperor Charles de la Morte
Ascending to the throne when he was only 23 Charles has excelled at the court dance of Velium and ruled for nine years raising controversy across the land. Unlike his predecessors he has sought to move towards peaceful relations with Istria hoping to divide the continent between them or perhaps unify the states though this has met with little success. In domestic affairs Charles has substantially empowered his own family and their close allies passing some laws in recent years that greatly divided some of his rival’s lands among their various children. He is considered a controversial character though none can deny his mastery of the political game.
