Alveer

The Elves of the north where nearly destroyed by the Fiendlord’s a long time ago, half the nation was taken over before the Three subraces of the Elves finally put away their differences and joined forces to push back the shadow of the fiends. Since then the three eldest and wisest of each race, known as the Council of Three, have led their connected nation of Alveer to prosperity. The Forest of Alveer, which permeates throughout all of the nation, is the official “border” for the elves, which the Wood elves grow constantly to expand their influence, much to the chagrin of Rathmeyer, who defines the border as the Vale River.   Wood Elves run the forest. They grow the trees and hunt wild creatures that flourish in its boundaries. Drow run the underground of the northernmost reaches of the forest. They gather rare gems, ores and other resources while at the same time protecting the borders beneath the ground. High Elves live mostly in the metropolis of Naenar, they mostly focus on creating unique magical components and experiment on new spells and craft new magical inventions. Not to mention they create the most incredible silks and textiles ever. Elven made clothing is such a commodity, that the nation is secure in that industry alone.   While they are swift to protect their borders if needed, the Elves aren’t the greatest military force. They lack conviction or tactical prowess. Still they have greatly skilled warriors and would be troublesome to invade.

Structure

The three Elders of the ruling body of Alveer do their best to delegate most tasks to a series of council members. All council members are considered experts in the fields that matter most to the Alveeran, commerce, arcane magic, mining, hunting, border protection to name a few. The Elders mostly lead in important decisions that impact the future of all Alveeran's and are the highest court. They can wield executive, military, and judicial power easily, but they only do this when the situation is appropriate. Being long lived, Elves often do things at a much more practiced and patient pace. This leads to some frustration when dealing with the other nations, but the Alveeran often do their best to placate their neighbors whenever it serves their best interest.

Culture

Alveer as a united state is relatively new, nearly 400 years is a short time in Elvish terms. Though they have gotten over some of the prejudice and initial problems with the transition, Elves have a hard time forgetting, the older generation is still dealing with old thoughts, while the new generation is actually thriving on cooperation. It is a stark difference in demeanor when talking to a young (0-250 year old) Alveeran. They see the net good, and some Drow/Wood/High elf couples have cropped up as a result.

Assets

Most of the states assets lie in its deeply magical forest. Alveer has an innate connection to the Feywild, allowing to pull resources from their and create powerful assets. Their mastery over arcane spells and textiles are but the two most prevalent answers. They elves revel in meticulous expertise, and love being recognized for their detail oriented. skill. As such their resources often reflect this, such as their gemstones, which the Drow have crafted some of the most expensive and famous pieces of Royal jewelry in the entire World.
