VENARION
Venarion, the Platinum Dragon, is the dragon god of justice, virtue and law. He is the deity of good and honorable dragons, metallic dragons, dragonborn, innocence, choice (the power of free will, that each person may decide their own fate and choices, but face the consequences of their actions) and enlightened justice (justice tempered with mercy and punishment with forgiveness). "Truth never damages a cause that is just."Church of Venarion
Worshippers
The majority of Bahamut's followers of mostly those that seek to uphold honour and justice. Most metallic dragons pay him homage as their father, but so do all good dragons hold him in high regard. His worship has grown and ebbed since the Arcane Era, and flourished through the Century of Broken Magic after the Divergence by non-draconic races. Followers of Venarion often oppose the dealings and schemes of Sincainea and to stop or destroy her followers. They are the keepers of law and justice.Clergy
Venarion accepts only clerics with good heart and uphold honour and free-will. Whether they are dragons, dragonborn, half-dragons, or other beings attracted to his philosophy, the clerics of the Platinum Dragon always have to strive to take constant but subtle actions on behalf of good while trying to do as little harm in the process as possible. Non-draconic clerics of Venarion typically learn his teachings through the wisdom and teachings of a wyrm, usually in humanoid form, or dragonborn. Teacher and student often travel to see the effects of injustice and cruelty firsthand.Orders
The Talons of Justice are an order of dragon paladins dedicated to Bahamut. No one knows exactly how many Talons there are, but they number in the 20s-30s. Group members are spread across Aetheus, many living in human and demihuman form in cities and towns of other races. Having suffered greatly after the Rift Schism, with the loss of many of their Talons, wish to rebuild their number and rediscover the lost draconic enclaves across the realm. The Radiant Scales from Isla Bahatoor are devoted followers of Venarion and tend to the betterment of the Bond Exchange and Aetheus as a whole. They fight evil wherever they meet it and brought forth many great heroes. They keep a close eye upon the richest Tiefling families of the Bond Exchange, swearing an oath of protection of their wealth, in exchange that it is used for the betterment of the world and never to implement corruption of the law.Shrines and Temples
Temples to Venarion are extremely rare, as the Platinum Dragon does not appreciate being honored by objects, rather taking into account deeds and actions instead. Many gold, silver and brass dragons maintain small shrines to Venarion in their lairs, usually nothing more than Venarions holy symbol engraved on a wall. The few temples that were built to honour him are beautiful and elegant buildings with simple furniture and no embellishment or adornment. Those temples have meeting rooms where followers can gather to plan their next campaign against Sincainea and Asmodeus, and few smaller rooms where individuals can pray, meditate, or rest in privacy.Realm
Venarion's realm, the Platinum Palace, is located on Mount Celestia. This castle, built entirely from Venarion's enormous treasure hoard, with walls made of mithral that reflect the eternal light of Celestia like a beacon on the horizon, and with windows composed of huge gemstones inlaid in silver and gold, is protected by Venarion's seven great gold wyrms. Venarion also has another realm, the Honour Nebulae, that is located in the Astral Sea. This place is a series of vastly spread castles that shower the realm like beacons of prismatic light. A new castle is built to honour the deeds of great draconic heroes, guarded by the great Prismatic Dragons of Venarion.Divine Goals & Aspirations
Venarion wants to protect the Dragonborn from harm, keep the metallic and chromatic dragons from the evil influence of Sincainea and most importantly watch over justice and order on Aetheus and the multiverse.Personal History
In the more commonly accepted traditions, he was the progeny of Asgorath and the twin brother of Sinainea. Myths from the Dragonborn claim that instead both Venarion and Sincainea were born from the sundered corpse of Asgorath, the first Dragon, when he was killed by the King of Terror in the Divine War against the Primordial Titans. Whatever the truth, his cult grew rapidly in the communities of the metallic dragons, especially among young gold dragons. Once dragons as a race established themselves as dominant against the threat of the Giants, the various religious factions of dragons began to battle one another over their different ideologies. Among those conflicts, there was one related to Venarion that divided the usually monolithic Gold Dragon culture. To combat Sincainea's aberrant creations, it was believed that Venarion created powerful draconic humanoids known as the Platinum Dragonborn, who served as his emissaries in the mortal realm during the first years of the war. They have since retreated to the Platinum Palace after the Divergence. One myth and believed heresy, was that during the Divine War, Venarion sided with Asmodeus in an event known as Honour's Folly. The Prime Divinities were plotting to launch an assault against the Lord of the Nine Hells, until his twin sister Sincainea called upon him before her sundering as the Vice Maiden. But despite the nature of this being, and his stature as a fallen celestial being, Asmodeus was a lawful being. Despite his tendencies and plotting and interference with the children of the gods, he was the vigilant punisher of the damned, those that found their souls dissolving to the Nine Hells. He was the stalwart watcher against the Abyss in the Blood War, protecting the universe from its spread and corruption. Before they could inflict the mortal blow, Venarion halted the battle and came to his aid, saving the Lord of the Nine Hells. It was only later that he realised that it was a ploy of Sincainea and Asmodeus. And would never ally himself with the likes of evil such as the Lord of the Nine Hells. Derived from the good essence of Asgorath. The Dragon God of Metallic Dragons, Honour, Enlightened Justice, Virtue, Innocence and Choice.
