Hydra
Basic Information
Anatomy
Hydras look similar to Linnorms, but they have many heads. They start with five, but they multiply every time one is cut off. They also have two legs instead of arms, which they walk on when on land.
Hydras have a natural connection to Nature Magic, with proficiency for water-related spells. This connection is weaker than that of a Linnorm, so hydras can't be magical patrons. Like other Wyrms, hydras can take humanoid forms, but they cannot change completely, so their humanoid forms still have some lizard-like traits.
Genetics and Reproduction
Hydras reproduce sexually and are oviparous. Their incubation period is twenty-five years.
Ecology and Habitats
Dietary Needs and Habits
Hydras are carnivorous and are somewhat adaptable.
Additional Information
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Hydras have exceptional senses of smell and hearing, and are otherwise average.

History
Long ago, The Fjandi, through her followers, managed to acquire a Linnorm's egg. She used this egg, in conjunction with a few other things, to create the first hydras. She wanted to create a creature that would be able to live on land and in the sea interchangeably, and that would be powerful enough to challenge the Greater Wyrms. Unfortunately, this kind of genetic manipulation is not easy, and even getting one egg was practically a miracle, so she only had one chance. Her attempt failed, as the resulting hydras couldn't survive indefinitely on land, and only had the power of a Lesser Wyrm. Because of this, despite still being quite strong, hydras were useless for The Fjandi's army, as using them would provoke the ire of the Linnorms, which considering the relative weakness of hydras, would be disastrous. Like the rest of The Fjandi's failures, the hydras were released into the sea, free to live however they want, as long as they don't interfere with her plans.
