Linnorm

Linnorms are a type of Wyrm.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Linnorms are quite long, with two arms near the front of their body, with five claws on each. They have a strong connection to Nature Magic, with proficiency in water-related magic, and are powerful enough to be patrons. Like other Wyrms, they can shapeshift into a humanoid form.

Genetics and Reproduction

Linnorms reproduce sexually and are oviparous. Their incubation period is forty years.

Ecology and Habitats

Linnorms traditionally live underwater, either in the sea or in large rivers. However, since The Great Wyrm War, most have been living in hiding. For some, that means living underground, and for others, it means blending in with other races, typically in a more modest position than Wyrms typically prefer.

Linnorms are omnivorous.

Social Structure

In the traditional hierarchy of linnorms, black linnorms are the highest, as they are considered to be the closest to Vritra. Next is azure, then vermillion, then yellow, then white.
Linnorms that are lower in the hierarchy are expected to obey those that are higher, as long as they don't do anything that goes against the interests of the linnorms.
The culture of linnorms is highly theocratic; any linnorms that don't follow Vritra quickly become social outcasts.

History

Throughout most of history, linnorms and Dragons have been in conflict. However, ever since The Great Wyrm War, the largest war between linnorms and Dragons, linnorms have, for the most part, been living in hiding.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

Linnorms are often considered to be demons because of their connection to Vritra. However, because they didn't originate in Irkalla, they aren't actually demons.
