Jubokko Sap
Properties
Material Characteristics
Jubokko sap is easy to mistake for blood at first glance. However, upon closer inspection, it becomes clear that unlike blood, jubokko sap is extremely thick, almost like molasses, and is also quite sticky.
Physical & Chemical Properties
In its raw state, jubokko sap is lethally poisonous. However, after being cooked over steady heat for twelve hours then strained it is safe, and actually is, even on its own, an extremely powerful medicine. At this point, the refined sap will be much lighter in color, and will no longer be sticky. The byproduct of this process, which is the stuff left over in the strainer, is an extremely dark red in color, very sticky, and is an incredibly strong poison.
It should be noted that while refined jubokko sap is considered safe, it isn't safe for healthy people or in excessive doses. In these cases, it will attempt to regenerate the body when there is nothing to regenerate, resulting in bizarre mutations that are often quite painful, and sometimes even lethal.
Compounds
Refined jubokko sap is used in a variety of medicines, usually being added to an existing medicine to strengthen its effects.
