Naraka
At first glance, Naraka appears to be a paradise among the dreadful landscapes of the rest of Irkalla. This misconception has cost countless people their lives. In fact, out of all the places in Irkalla, Naraka is arguably the most dangerous. In most places in Irkalla, the various dangers are readily apparent: Inferna's volcanoes, Jahannam's deserts, etc. But in Naraka, this is not the case. Naraka's dangers lay hidden beneath a thin veneer of serenity, waiting for the right moment to show themselves. In many cases, those who fall prey to these things are already dead by the time they could recognize the danger.
Geography
Naraka is the northeast section of Irkalla. The terrain is mostly plains.
Fauna & Flora
In Naraka, the line between flora and fauna is somewhat blurred. Carnivorous and herbivorous plants are quite common, and some of them, such as the Vvrikarani, even have locomotive capabilities and a measure of intelligence. Because of this, travellers in Naraka must be ever vigilant, for any part of their surroundings, be it a tree, vine, or flower, could attack at any moment. However, every cloud has a silver lining. In this case, it is the fact that these dangers also protect Naraka from invaders that their somewhat subpar military couldn't hope to drive off on their own.
When the king of Irkalla brought Humans to Irkalla as slaves, he also brought many Aevorean animals. Most of these were sent to Naraka, since Naraka's environment is more similar to that of Aevorea than any other place in Irkalla. Almost all of them quickly died. The king then tasked his mages with using creatures already in Irkalla to augment the Aevorean animals in order to make them more resilient. Eventually, this effort was met with great success. Most of the products of this were sent to Naraka, but a few were sent to other places. Because of this, many of the animals typical to Aevorea have counterparts in Naraka, although they tend to be much larger and stronger, in some cases are somewhat deformed, and are also often extremely aggressive. Aevoreans typically refer to them as "dire" versions of animals, but Narakans simply refer to them as normal.
Natural Resources
Naraka is abundant in natural resources of many kinds: wood, fertile land, and water being chief among them. Acquiring these resources, however, is nearly impossible for those who aren't properly prepared. Because of this, farmers, hunters, and anyone else who works outside of the cities are held in positions of the highest regard in Naraka.
