"Revealing Travels" by Recato Isnam

A series of travelogues detailing Recato Isnam's journeys to the distant corners of the world. Filled with detailed description of the cultures, landscapes and weather phenomena he encountered - as well as occasionally scathing political commentary. In his lifetime he managed to write three volumes:

Vol. I: The Night Kingdom and more - A detailed description of the big coastal cities of the Kingdom of Ayel as well as a short detour to Xakuma and the Realm of Yane.
Vol. II: The Flaming Isles - Recato recounts his journeys across the Phoaga Archipelago and a visit to Empress Cara II.'s royal court. This is the most overtly political of the volumes and caused him to be barred from ever traveling the Hoccan Empire again.
Vol. III: Across the Green Street - The sage reaches Amruth and travels to the Kingdom of Marlund where he attempts but fails at mountain climbing. He then - this time incognito - enters the Empire once more and describes the newly colonized regions of southern Amruth.

Copies of these books can be found throughout the libraries of the Kingdom of Ayel, the Realm of Yane and Xakuma. Some translated versions have made their way to the Hoccan Empire, although heavily edited.
