Chaos

Created by GabeGrimoire
The unpredictable, everchanging random events that occur in everyday life can be unfortunate to some, and fortunate to others. It changes from moment to moment, but you know the truth of it. Chaos is a force, a deadly and invigorating force that is behind all these occurrences. For those who are willing to see it—those willing to praise it, chaos can be harnessed.

Domain Spells

You gain domain spells at the appropriate Cleric levels listed below. See the Divine Domain class feature for how domain spells work.

1st - Chaos Bolt, Tasha's Hideous Laughter
3rd - Crown of Madness, Mirror Image
5th - Enemies Abound, Summon Lesser Demons
7th - Confusion, Hallucinatory Terrain
9th - Insect Plague, Synaptic Static

Bonus Cantrip

1st-level Chaos Domain feautre   You know the Eldritch Blast, Mage Hand or Prestigidation cantrip, and it doesn't count against the number of Cleric cantrips you can know.

Unstable Magic

1st-level Chaos Domain feature   You can purposefully cause your magic to become chaotic and unstable, causing it to potentially do effects it normally wouldn't. When you hit a creature with a spell that deals damage, you can roll a d8 and a d6. If the roll of the d6 is even, the spell deals an additional amount of damage equal to the roll of the d6 + your Wisdom modifier. If the roll of the d6 is odd, you take damage equal to the amount rolled. The roll of the d8 determines the Damage Type of the damage, as shown below.
1 - Acid
2 - Cold
3 - Fire
4 - Force
5 - Lightning
6 - Poison
7 - Psychic
8 - Thunder   If the spell damages multiple targets, the damage dealt to each of those creatures from this feature is halved. If the spell you cast for this feature was the Chaos Bolt spell, you can replace one of the d8s rolled for that spell with the one you rolled from this feature.   You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Widsom modifier, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a Long Rest. The die size of the d6 from this feature increases to a d10 at 7th level, a d12 at 13th level, and a d20 at 17th level.

Channel Divinity: Chaos Pulse

2nd-level Chaos Domain feature   As an Action, you present your holy symbol, and begin to exude a wave of chaotic energy. This wave is centered around you, has a 30-foot radius, and lasts for 1 minute or until you are knocked Unconscious or die. Whenever a creature within the aura rolls with Advantage or Disadvantage on a D20 Test, it rolls three dice, instead of two. Additionally, if you use your Unstable Magic feature while this aura is active, you can choose the result of the d8 you roll for that feature.

Misfortune's Gift

6th-level Chaos Domain feature   Whenever you have Disadvantage on a Spell Attack Roll, you can deal maximum damage with that spell (meaning all Damage Rolls from that spell are the highest they can be). Once you use this feature, you can't do so again until 30 seconds (5 rounds) have passed.

Potent Spellcasting

8th-level Chaos Domain feature   You add your Wisdom modifier to the damage you deal with any Cleric cantrip.

Chaos Reigns

17th-level Chaos Domain feature   You can expend a use of your Channel Divinity to do one of the following:
  • Roll twice on the Wild Magic Surge table, and choose which of the two results happens.
  • Cast one of your Domain Spells as a Bonus Action.
