Var Narek is a traitor to the republic. He formerly served with the Rebels' 13th Division as the field assistant to Senior Advisor Setenna Hase.
Narek was first encountered by Private Kesc Gifl'el, who witnessed his argument with Hase. Narek later supported Gifl'el when Gifl'el was attempting to convince Hase to leave Farstone Base during the Imperial attack.
However, it was eventually discovered that Narek was a traitor and the mole behind the attack on Farstone. He had been feeding information on the base's location and complement to the Empire. Unfortunately, when he was discovered, Narek took Hase hostage and transported her off world.
It is assumed Narek has returned to his homeworld of Veron. It is crucial he is found as he knows a staggering amount of classified information, including the location of the 13th Division's Resolute Base.

Mental Trauma
It has been revealed that members of Narek's family were killed in an explosion on Veron. The attack was blamed on a rebel cell. It is possible this is a reason for his betrayal of the rebellion.
