The Razor's Edge

The Razor's Edge is a massive mountain range bisecting the continent of Aheila, separating Kaisu from the dangerous The Howling Plains. It is here the reclusive Sky Elves have made their home, nestled amongst the snow capped peaks at the northern end of the mountain range. Blanketed in eternal ice and snow, the mountains are barely habitable, with temperatures well below freezing even during the day, and dropping to lethal levels most nights. Traveling southward, the weather warms and the snow gives way thick, hardy pine trees. On the forested slopes, life flourishes, but with the warm weather comes new dangers.

Fauna & Flora

The northern stretches of the Razor's Edge are home to all manner of creatures suited for the cold - bears, foxes, even the odd yeti are seen amongst the drifting snow. Barely any flora can survive the frigid temperature, save for the odd pine tree. As you progress southward, the foliage thickens. Shrubs, mushrooms, and wildflowers sprout among the moss-covered trees. Owls, hawks, and robins nest in the branches while squirrels, mice and deer scamper through the underbrush. But the milder weather and flourishing ecosystem welcomes more dangerous predators that hawks and owls. Wolves, Bugbears, and even the odd basilisk lurk through the forests at the mountain's base.

Natural Resources

The forest at the base of the mountain is a plentiful source of lumber. The true value of the Razor's Edge, however, are the minerals that can be mined from the mountains. Veins of precious metals such as gold and silver lace through the mountains, as well as iron and even precious gems.
