North Ward
Waterdeep's quietest ward is also one of its wealthiest. North Ward is home to most of the middle class and lesser noble families. This ward has few notable landmarks other than the Cliffwatch, and it all but shuts down at dusk. This placid reputation belies the intrigues and scheming that goes on behind closed doors and the volumes of smuggled goods that lie in cellars beneath the city streets.
Demographics
While not as exclusive as Sea Ward has a reputation for being, North Ward is certainly on the upper end. Generally, it is the home of those who aren't rich or connected enough for Sea Ward and not central enough to the city to live in Castle Ward. Or those who'se family history ties them to the ward, which is true for a lot of nobility living here.
Like Sea Ward, elves and dwarves are over-represented here.
Government
Ruled by the Lords of Waterdeep like all of the wards of the city, North Ward has a reputation for handling things discreetly. And there are constant rumours as to who here might be a Masked Lord themselves. Of course, some such rumours are started by nobles - true or not.
Guilds and Factions
There are a few guilds who have there headquarters here, but they are mostly close to Trades Ward and "spilling over" as it were. But so is commerce to some extent.
Architecture
While not as magnificent as Sea Ward or as filled with history as Castle Ward, most of North Ward is still pretty impressive to look at. Some buildings might mostly be well constructed rather bragging about wealth and some make the opposite priority. And while there are certainly several wide and well kept streets, there are also plenty of dark alleys and side streets. Possibly more dark places than one might expect in these kinds of neighbourhoods...
