Illuvis Once-Divine

Illuvis Once-Divine, Second Prince of the Nine Hells, Light of the Aurora, Gaze of the Day, Archwarden of the Sombre Oubliette and Lady of Locks.   Illuvis was a God of a human tribe in central Cathlaea, a solar deity whose followers abandoned her for the worship of the Three-Headed Serpent during the rise of the First Ophionic Empire. She descended into The Abyss to confront her enemies, but almost immediately came into conflict with Ultima the Peerless and was overthrown.   Although defeated, a God could not be killed by a Devil and Illuvis was instead cast into the Sombre Oubliette. There, she negotiated the ranks of prisoners and wardens, before at last taking oaths of fealty to Ultima as the new Archwarden of the infernal prison, and earning a seat on the council of Archdevils. Although greatly reduced in power from her glory days, Illuvis remains a living, red divinity, and as such is able to maintain the Oubliette by will alone, as well as easily negotiating the timeless spaces which disrupt the geometries of Incarceron. She is greater than any of the Archdevils save Ultima himself, and wields the axe Extremis, the most feared of the infernal arms.   Illuvis is a colossal figure of shining light, easily the largest of the Archdevils, and almost heartbreakingly beautiful. To look upon her is to love, absolutely and unconditionally, and to be struck blind in the moment of doing so. For practical purposes, she garbs herself in shadow and armour of grey steel, her light hidden beneath a visored helm.
