Fort Galandris

A fortress built as a watch tower like outpost centuries ago, long before Knaeva was founded, Fort Galandris was used as the site of a treaty between The Old Oshal Empire and the elves that lived in the land that now makes up Knaeva to ensure that there could be true peace. This changed; however, when the yuan-ti from The Cursed Isles and Its People came and effectively destroyed The Old Oshal Empire, either slaughtering or enslaving their people, the elves built the fortress up, making it into more of a tower outpost, so that they could have a watchful eye on the snake-folk that could possibly be a threat in future.   The Fortress, along with the The Citadel of Knaeva, was abandoned a few decades later. Not everyone is sure why the land was abandoned, other than the elves themselves, who retreated into The Ithryl Woods. There are some theories that the yuan-ti were enough to force the elves to retreat, and there are other theories that the founding of Alderhardt in response to the yuan-ti's arrival caused the elves to want to shore up their western border, in case the new country wanted to expand their land into the Ithryl Woods. What is known is that the Fortress is known to be abandoned to this day, but its hopes of being restored have been revitalised after the founding of Knaeva, and the restoration of The Citadel.    The architecture, surprisingly enough, is not very elven in design. In fact, it resembles human architecture far more, with it being possible that the builders were inspired by the city states that would eventually make up Alderhardt. Much of the fortress' interior is actually built into the rocky cliff which the tower is built upon, making the interior far larger than the visible exterior. There are rumours now that the fortress is no longer a ruin, and that someone has taken up residents, rather illegally, with demons being sited in the fields that surround it.
