The Old Oshal Empire

The deserts of Oshal were not always known as sand ridden dunes belonging to the snake-race of the Yuan-ti. It was once home to a human empire, known as the Old Oshal Empire, known for braving the dangers of their home, and forging a mighty country despite all of the adversity. This empire has earned the tile of 'Old' by being long since taken over by the yuan-ti, nearly half a dozen centuries ago. Most of people were made slaves of the yuan-ti; however, largely due to the efforts of The Knights of Alderhardt , many people of Oshal descent now reside within that country, or in the nearby southern isles of The Tirmari Archipelago.
Due to the many, many years since the Old Oshal Empire was once in its prime, most people only recognise it by name, and the constant relevance of the Yuan-ti stained version of Oshal  has caused the older Empire to be forgotten, similar to the The Nashuto country of the The Cursed Isles and Its People  that was eventually absorbed by the The Martian Empire.
