Grimar the Bear

The youngest son of King Vanar Sondell, Grimar is one of the many commanders of his people, noted for his inordinate strength, even among the Valkan's, who are already noted for their super human strength. He is famed for inheriting the warrior nature of his father, being told that he 'fights just like Vanar' and the tales of him killing a bear in his early adolescence earned him the moniker of 'The Bear'. Grimar is not known fr his tactical mind; however, noted for often following his elder brother, Eyvald Vanarson, into battle, using his strategies instead.

A Warrior from Birth

It was clear from a very young age that Grimar was going to be a great warrior. He had a difficult birth, being born premature, struggling to survive. Vanar never lost hope for his son, and just like the king said, his son would fight until he won. After this, Grimar would grow far larger than many other children at his age, being taken on raids despite his age. He would often shadow his elder brothers, Algar and Eyvald Vanarson when on raids, being near to their heights despite the significant age gap, aiding them in blazing a path of conquest through the north of The Martéan Empire and The Sahrian Union.

Earning his Moniker

Vanar was always a fan of putting his children through trials to prove their worth. Algar slew a griffin, Eyvald invented a way to counter the weaponry of their enemies' naval forts and Grimar would be given a trail of equal worth. Seeing much of himself in his son, Vanar decided to give him the same trail that his father gave him, tasking him with slaying a bear. With his axe in hand, and the advice of his brothers echoing in his mind, Grimar began the hunt, slaying a bear worthy of the prince, wearing its pelt just as his father did, earning him his monkier.
The moniker would only be reinforced in the later years, with him tearing through Valka's enemies just like a bear would. He would be a renowned warrior, known throughout the north of The Continent as a dangerous killer, just like his brothers. He was known for being near unmatched, until the betrayal of his eldest brother, who managed to defeat Grimar, comfortably, when fleeing. Given their bond, Grimar never felt any contempt towards Algar, but he did crave a rematch, hoping to see him one day to prove how much stronger he had become.
