Sahrian Union
Formed in response to the invasion of The Martéan Empire, the Sahrian Union is made up of the many city states of different, non-human races, forming a make shift country of uneasy alliances to combat the new, human threat. The union is run by a council of non-human rulers and kings, with an elected head taking an almost head general type role for the country. Many of the city states are not fond of each other, with in fighting being rampant throughout. At times of peace, no one knows if the union will remain stable, or will fall to infighting. Although many races, such as gnomes, halfings, goliaths and tabaxis, are a part of this union, many remain out of it, due to being far enough way from the war to be affected by the invading humans.
Much of the Union's land is made up of the wilds, with there being very few villages or towns outside of the walls of the city states, given the lack of mixing between the different races that live within each of the cities. Pruva has been made the country's capital, given its relatively central position, along with the leader of the war-like goliaths that populate the settlement usually being chosen as the leader of the Union, as is the case with their current ruler, King Rahm Calost.
Culture
When it comes to religion, there is little consistency among the different city states, nor is there much cultural bleeding between them. Outside of the war and trade, the city states largely keep to themselves, making each of them very different in culture. Typically, each city simply worships the patron god of their race. For example, the aarakocra of Arwick predominantly worship Ventus, the First Avian.
Assets
Despite losing the skilled rangers of The Golden Forest, after it was burned and the wood elves that it called their home were forced into exodus, the Union still has significant military might. They are known for their feared goliath warriors, that make up much of their vanguard fighting force, being complemented by the technology of the halflings and gnomes of Concidorne, which makes them a true force to be reckoned with. They also have The Shadow Claws of Azhak in their domain, skilled assassins that can be used against their enemies if need be. In spite of this, the Union has little naval might, with it being a major weakness of their people for many years.
History
The Union itself has its entire history steeped in war, with it never being tested in times of peace. Its war against Martéa has plagued the people of the Sahrian Union ever since its founding, and the raiding of The Valkan Isles, although not an official war, has only added to their militaristic nature, which has caused the more peaceful people of Arwick and Yhagos to be given less political power, given their inability to add much to the war effort, causing the goliaths of Pruva, the technological gnomes of Concidorne and the tabaxi assassins of Azhark to be the main centres of power.
