Iyona Sondell

(a.k.a. The Lady of Earthelm)

Known as the Lady of Earthelm, acting as their governess, Iyona Sondell is noted also being responsible for the town's founding, being its leader ever since its founding. She has also bee responsible for the expansion of the area, providing homes for the many refugees and victims that have suffered at the hands of the yuan-ti of Oshal.

Identifying Characteristics

Iyona is considered to be the quintessential example of Valkan beauty, with bright blue eyes, fair skin and wavy blonde hair, causing many a suitor to come her way, which she has often denied, though none but her are too sure why. She is often seen wearing red, noble robes, looking professional to show those that she deserves the position she has earned, and has not just been handed it from her step brother.

Personal history

Iyona, despite having the Sondell name, was not born into the family of her surname. Instead, she was born to a Valkyrie Knight of The Valkan Isles, along with a Berserker, hailing from Ruvar. Both gave their life to save The Isles' king, Vanar Sondell so, to honour their sacrifice, Vanar took Iyona, their only daughter, as his ward. During her time with the royal family, she became close with Vanar's eldest son, Algar Sondell, finding a kindred soul with their shared compassion towards many non-humans, which was rare in the Isles.
When it came time for Algar to leave, freeing the many non-human slaves that had been captured, and taking like minded individuals with him, Iyona was one of the first to stand by him, leaving to help form the country of Knaeva. She was the first to mention that the country could not solely be an old Citadel if they were to house civilians, along with warriors, leading to the founding of Earthelm, which she now governs in the name of the Lord Protector.
