The First Bloodhunter

The tale of the First Bloodhunter is one that people find difficult to believe, given how implausible it is, but it is one told to bloodhunters by other bloodhunters. The story goes that the First Bloodhunter was not a humanoid, as many would assume. It was a wolf, unlike any that the world has ever seen and any that the world would likely ever see. It was larger, stronger, fiercer that its brothers, mightier than all that lived within its territory, but it did not belong. It was unnatural, shunned by all that saw it. It made its brothers look weak, and they could not accept this, so he left.   Roaming around the world, finding that he had no equal, the wolf slew all in his way, trying to find a true place to call home where he belonged. He could not find this place; however, so he chose to battle his way through life, hoping to find a death worthy of him. All that fought him died, and he consumed them, drinking the blood of all but one. The Everhaust Beasts were one that he could not that he could not slay, as they were born outside of the cycle.   He spent much of his life avoiding such creatures, hoping to find a death where victory could be achievable, but the world would not give him a choice. His heart was good, and when an Everhaust Beast attacked a town of innocents, his honour forced him to step in. He knew that the Beast could not be slain, but the Wolf did not care. He fought. Fought until he could not fight anymore. He did enough; however, causing the Beast to flee, jumping to another plane of existence. The people of the now ruined town, with their home and much of their families gone, thanked the wolf, using his blood to create the first Blood Ritual. They strengthened themselves, allowing them to fight against the horrors of the wild.
