Zyn Khalazza

Current Archmage of Avalencia, newly assigned after the coronation of Queen Dalia, Zyn Khalazza is a talented, prodigy of a mage, being one of the few in the world that specialises in the art of dunamancy, as well as more esoteric arcane arts, being considered a master of spacial distortion. His knowledge in the esoteric makes up for his apparent lack of experience, but it is clear that, in spite of this, he is someone that has the knowledge to help carry the drow of Avalencia into a new age.

Personal history

Student of the Arcane

It was clear from a young age that Zyn had a near unmatched understanding with the arcane, surpassing almost all other students at a similar age range. He was still considered a child by the time his understanding surpassed many of mentors, being taken in by the Archmage at the time. The previous Archmage was already an old man, even in elven terms, and was looking for a replacement, seeing Zyn as the only possible replacement. The only issue was the age gap, which even Zyn's genius status could not compensate for. Here he was readily humbled, being around one of the only people in Avalencia who outclassed him easily in arcane might, helping him to become the mage he is today.

Ascending to Archmage

It was not long until the Archmage retired, being encouraged to by Queen Dalia after her coronation. The new matron mother only really had one choice for someone to replace him, with the previous Archmage recommending his apprentice, Zyn, almost immediately, determining that now, after nearly a century under his watch, the drow was now ready to take over. This added to Dalia's laundry list of controversial changes, but Zyn quickly silenced his doubters, becoming a more than competent Archmage to replace the man who had taught him. During this time, he took an apprentice of his own, Velbrina Colar, who, despite not quite being as competent as he once was, provides him with a master - pupil relationship he considers invaluable.
