Session 3

Session Date: October 8, 2019

General Summary

The Four Horsemen charter horses from the stable-master and head towards the pirate hideout located at Sharkeel Cove. To the north of the their destination is a small hamlet, where the group stops off to gather provisions and information. This includes a quick stop the to blacksmith, local store, bar and alchemist shop. They learn the pirates they seek are using the old Flintlock Docs on the far side of the cove, and their best bet to approach unnoticed is a pass through the mountains to the west.   Along the way, the group detours to a retired adventurer they learned about from the tavern keeper, a middle-aged human wizard named Gussalen Cartwraith. Moses Hamato is delighted (as much as he can be) that she is well versed in the portal arts, and quickly reads he has an ability in the skill. She notes the unique nature of his ocarina and gives him a tome to rediscover his lost knowledge of portals. After this brief encounter, the group is back on track.   They head towards the dock where the ship was last seen, taking a sentry captive along the way. Lord Lothar Cruxibel relieves the lookout of his raven familiar, and takes him as his own, naming him Jake. The group waits for nightfall, scouting the area and approaching cautiously through the forest. The dock is where they expected, as they find the ship's crew is actively unloading cargo from the dock to the cave in the moonlight. As they are about to strike, one of the kobolds spots them, and they hear the voice of a captive in distress, asking for help. The battle is about to begin...
