Mithra
God of the rising sun, covenants, contracts, and kingship.
In a bas relief discovered in a kobold infested ancient Parsan shrine near Snowfals, Mithra is depicted riding in a chariot drawn by winged horses, armed with a silver spear, a bow and arrows of gold, daggers, axes, and his famous mace, the most formidable of his weaponry. On the front of the Chariot is a star (that is embedded in the art - dc 10 perception). He is riding in combat against a dracolich, a shaodwy humanoid, and a giant scorpion and its skeleton minions. "May the light of life always shine on the evil of death." is inscribed in ancient Parsan on the relief.
A prayer, inscribed in the same shrine, evinces how highly regarded Mithra was amongst the Parsans, chief of Beneficial Immortals, second only to Ahura Mazda themself.
"Homage to Mithra of Wide Fertile Plains, Whose Word is True, who is of the Assembly, Who has a Thousand Ears, the Well-Shaped One, Who has Ten Thousand Eyes, the Exalted One, Who has Wide Knowledge, the Helpful One, Who Sleeps Not, the Ever Wakeful. We sacrifice to Mithra, The Lord of all lands, Whom Ahura Mazda created the most glorious of the Beneficial Immortals. So may there come to us for Aid, Both Mithra and Ahura, the Two Exalted Ones,"
