Daran Edermath is a retired adventurer who lives in a tidy little cottage next to an Edermath Orchard. Daran is a fit silver-haired half-elf who is over a hundred years old. Daran is a fighter who served as a marshal and herald for many years in the Western Coast region near the town of Bracadale. Upon his retirement he sought out a quieter place to live and found that in Phandalin.

Personal history
Daran was born of an Island Elf father and human mother in the Fearann Dorcha. His human side drew him to leave the The Dark Land and find work in Bracadale. He took up with mercenaries and soon joined in military work, where he rose to leadership as a marshall and herald. Upon his retirement following The Dark War he sought a quieter place to live in Phandalin. Occasionally he still longs for the Fearann Dorcha and the sea.
Education
As with all of the Elves and Fey-kind, Daran had much schooling in the ways of his people (both elven and human), the history of his people and the land, as well as being schooled in ways of magic and fey powers.
Employment
Daran runs and cares for a small fruit Edermath Orchard just on the boundary of the village of Phandalin.
