Innate Spellcasting. Catalyst's innate spell casting ability is Constitution (spell save DC 14, +6 to hit with spell attacks). It can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components:
- At Will: produce flame.
- 1/Day: burning hands.
Ki Points (8/short rest). Catalyst to a pool of Ki points and can spend these points to fuel various ki features. Ki-Empowered Strikes. Catalyst's unarmed strikes count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage. Evasion. When Catalyst is subjected to an effect that allows him to make a Dexterity saving throw to take only half damage, he instead take no damage if he succeeds on the saving throw, and only half damage if he fails.
Actions
Multiattack. Catalyst makes two attacks with either his Quarterstaff, Unarmed Strike or Radiant Sun Bolt. He can then make an additional Unarmed Strike as a bonus action. If he misses with an attack roll, Catalyst can spend up to 3 ki points to increase the attack roll by 2 for each ki point spent. Quarterstaff. Melee Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 1D6+5 bludgeoning damage, or 1D8+5 bludgeoning damage if used with two hands to make a melee attack, plus 1D6 fire damage. If a melee attack was made, Catalyst can then spend 1 ki point to attempt a stunning strike. The target must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution saving throw or be stunned until the end of his next turn. Unarmed Strike. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 1D6+5 bludgeoning damage plus 1D6 fire damage. Catalyst can then spend 1 ki point to attempt a stunning strike. The target must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution saving throw or be stunned until the end of his next turn. Radiant Sun Bolt. Ranged Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 30 ft., one target. Hit: 1D6+5 radiant damage. Quickened Healing. Catalyst can spend 2 ki points to regain 1D6+3 points. Stillness of Mind. Catalyst can end one effect on himself that is causing him to be charmed or frightened. BONUS ACTIONS Flurry of Blows (1 ki). If Catalyst attacks with his Quarterstaff or Unarmed Strike this turn, he makes two Unarmed Strike. If he used his Radiant Sun Bolt attack, he can instead make two Radiant Sun Bolt attacks. Ki-Fuelled Attack. If Catalyst spent 1 or more ki points as part of his action, he can make an attack with his Quarterstaff. Patient Defense (1 ki). Catalyst takes the Dodge action as a bonus action. Searing Arc Strike (2 ki). If Catalyst attacks with either his Quarterstaff, Unarmed Strike or Radiant Sun Bolt, he can cast Burning Hands. He can spend up to an additional 6 ki points to cast Burning Hands as a higher level spell. Each additional ki point spent increases the spell's level by 1. Step of the Wind (1 ki). Catalyst takes the Disengage or Dash action as a bonus action, and his jump distance is doubled for the turn.
Reactions
Deflect Missiles. When hit by a ranged weapon attack, Catalyst can use his reaction to reduce the damage by 1D10+22. If he reduces the damage to 0, he catches missile if it is small enough to hold in one hand and he has at least one hand free. He can the spend 1 ki point to make a ranged attack (+8 to hit, range 20/60ft., Hit: 1D6+5 piercing damage) using the missile. Slow Fall. Catalyst can use his reaction to reduce any falling damage she takes by 40.
