stablished 17 Moribund, 47 LL by King Mathghaman Sauvage of Terremorte , the Memoriam Inanimatam (Common trans. "Unliving Memories") was initially an all-male order of researchers and expeditioners seeking to understand the physiognomy of the Inmortui in order to provide the brand new species of Anima insight into their collective unlives and individual journeys relative to Le Pèlerinage. Over the next 20 years, however, the exploration of the An/Inmortui experience grew to include quandaries of a less tangible nature: what does it mean to be 'alive?' Are some truly more alive than others, and if so, who is in charge of ordaining such a thing and by what authority? As time went on so did the questions until the Memoriam decided in 78 LL (beginning with the adamant, enthusiastic suggestion of Mathghman Le Fay Sauvage and the subsequent founding of Ecclesia Cridhe to open its collective consciousness to answers from all sources. This began a renewal of the order's values and objectives and the start of a golden era of the Memoriam: The Age of Exploration. Philosophy, poetry, art, academia, research expeditions into the realms of Anima, magical experimentation, warfare, worship - all of these developed into worthy, viable pursuits for those searching for insight into their walk with Cridhe.

Finally, the Inanimata crossed the final frontier of exploration and opened its doors to its first female member in 80 LL with the induction of noted magical naturalist Sojourne Seiliegh . Other noted women of the Memoriam include Lemesre Silouane Serous and Aleydis Maudeleyn Lake (10435-present).

Cultural Significance

The Memoriam Inanimatam has been and remains the premier center for preternatural study in all of Anima. Its members are highly respected and their collective research have been pivotal to the advancement of Animist society.
