Neştiut Meșteșug - Burgess (NESH-tee-oot MESH-teh-shug)

Neştiut Meșteșug (Common trans. "Secretcraft") is the traditional currency of the Dhezlegat (Grai trans. "free") people of Burgess.

Burgess partakes in market trade with the lands to the far south and east of Albion and its lost sister, Anima, carrying good acquired in both Camelot and Burgess far away and returning with mounds of foreign currency which they then use to purchase items for the betterment of the city from their neighbors.

Uniquely, this currency is held in a joint city trust managed by the Fellowship and used exclusively for dealings with outsiders - denominations of coin and alien trinkets mean little to the free people of Burgess and as a result, its citizens trade internally in secrets and information. Merchant establishments and stalls are outfitted with the strongest and most secure truth spells available during the age of enchantment, discouraging the use of counterfeit payment, or fals (Grai trans."falsehood"). The matter of which is required and to what degree depends largely upon the service being provided: if you want to purchase a drink in one of the taverns in Tilly's Revenge, for example, a shot of nestemată (Grai trans. "gemseed") cordial might cost your first name, whereas a round for the entire bar would require the names of all your family and the town they live in.

Under the laws of secretcraft it is possible to apply for lignegni adevărre (Grai trans."line of truth"), a line of occurred credit with which to barter and trade (it is important to note that the deliberate distribution of fals can and will deplete a lignegni over time).
