Lunayin

The 1st Moon

Lunayin is one of the three moon sisters, the orbital body named after her. Not of the original pantheon, she is known for healing the sick, vererating personal freedom, and the lighthearted flow of emotions, the blue moon is a popular god within Aldebaran.   As one of the moon gods, Lunayin's followers hold a healthy respect to the Io and Charon. While there is the occasional spat, and Charon frequently oversteps her bounds, there is almost the same familial bond that exists between followers. Of course, this doesn't exist for everyone, but for conflicts between good and evil, those between the moon sisters tend to be the least bloody.   Lunayin is one of the major gods of the Ocean, holding much dominion over the rivers and seas of the world. Nights with her hovering over the sky while seafaring are described as beautiful and safe. The seas turn sinister without her guiding light, or worse, with Charon’s. Many of her followers are artists of some sort, despite Lunayin not holding such a domain. But for nearly all dedicated clergy, they are a healer of some sort. Capable of providing relief to the wounded or sick, often out of the goodness of their own hearts.   It is said Lunayin was conceived by So'lith, the Theotian of the Sun. She, along with her two sisters found the rigid and dogmatic nature of the solar father's ideaologies as chains holding them back. They broke free, and moved across the planet of Aldebaran to hide from its light. While most consider that a myth, and further research has shown the moons only shine because of the suns light, there is also the fourth hidden moon in the sky. The smooth onyx surface of this blackened moon reflects light in an unnatural way. Whatever this moon symbolizes to the two other moon sisters and Lunayin, it is kept quiet. To speak of the fourth moon is considered heresy.

Depiction

Lunayin is depicted differently in nearly every culture. A beautiful being of some sort, with flowing blue scarves that represent the flow of the rivers, her symbol is that of a blue moon with three tear drops.
