Bitumen

Asphaltum

Bitumen is a black, sticky semi-solid form of oil. Heavy concentrations of bitumen can be found throughout Dergonhad's eastern regions and has been used by the Dagmon in shipbuilding for millennia. In Ethae the Siduumites in the Craddle Valley used the substance for burials, coating the bodies to preserve them. In Novyum the Capedian used bitumen as mortar for bricks, while the Dwarf of the Cutting Mountains coated their vast tunnels floors with it to create surfaces easier for travel.
