Lunghi's Cavern

the Lair of the Most Ancients

Situated in a valley on the eastern slopes of Mount Lunghi, the large open mouth cavern is largely hidden from the world by the glaciers of the mountain. Only found in recent years as adventures melted away the ice covering the cavern entrance. Through much of the prehistoric periods was the lair of generations of Dragon dating back to at least the Randeny Period, if not before. While it is, for the most part, known for the many dragons over the ages that have claimed it, historians and scholars have long been aware of a feature that is largely ignored in the stories of adventurers slaying dragons within. Lunghi's Cavern is home to the oldest surviving cave paintings known.

The cave paintings cover much of the lower walls of the cavern. These paintings are thought to date to the Randeny Period, and created by the Katilan that dwelled within during the age. It is believed the paintings were heated in dragon fire preserving them on the walls for all time. These paintings depict family gatherings and celebrations among the people, and were believed to have been created exclusively by the women of the families.
