One of several city-states to emerge in Tinjir after the Black Collapse, Pampont was one of the leading cities of the Tinjar Confederation, its power coming from the wheats, barleys, and other grains produced throughout the surrounding Pampont Plains. After the decline of the Confederation the city, along with Polis to its west, formed the Lhakenwed.

In its day it was considered the most powerful city of Lhakamed, its port a marvel of the ancient world. Today however, the city and the port, are little more than stone ruins along the Toemanshire coast, west of Tomaton.
