Peper Lake
Warbound Waters
Peper Lake is one of the many large lakes scattered throughout the Heartlands of Novyum. The lake is located about 140 miles northwest of the city of Lakorth at the north of Lake Roic. It is mainly a marshy shallow lowland lake used as a natural reservoir for the locals, especially in the rare years of low rainfall.
The origins of the lakes name are unknown, many a wives-tale claim its names comes for the many battles that have been fought on its shores. 'The lakes history is as bitter as pepper in the mouth.' Sometimes referred to as the 'Warbound Waters', Pepper Lake is in fact famous due to several key battled that were fought near it of the ages. The most infamous is known simply as the Battle of Peper Lake saw the Lakortha defeated by a Vervigon army. A battle many feel was the beginning of the end for that nation.
Today the lake stands quiet and peacefull. Though off many of the major highways, the lake is vital for irrigating the farmlands south of the lake.
