Red Goblin

Red Cobles are the evil kin of the Coblyn of Novyum. Or, rather, the Coblyn are the good versions of these Goblin. Either way, the two have a shared territory and ancestry. Like Coblyns the Red Cobles are native to Novyum, dwelling almost exclusively in the Heartlands. They are also, like the Coblyn, and unlike other goblins, solitary creatures. Beyond that, and their very similar appearance, the two differ drastically.

Red Cobles never stand more than 4 feet tall, 3 feet being the most common. Both sexes being the same height on average. This skin tone is nearly always green, with some yellowing. Both sexes have little, if any, hair on their bodies. Something that they hate. These jealous creatures despise the hair on other creatures, ripping it out by the handfuls if they can get their hands on anyone.

Red Cobles, like nearly all other goblins are stationary creatures, dwelling in, and never leaving the town they call home. If forces to leave the city boundaries, these creatures enter a seizure fit of rage, attacking anything blocking their path back home. This fit is so compulsory that some die trying to cross rivers and attack clearly superior foes in their way. Sunlight makes them ill, sluggish, and near blind. The same fit of rage applies when forced into the light of day, as they try franticly to get back into shadows.

These goblins live in the dark places of attics and cellars. If a town has a sewer, that is where they dwell as well. The towns with sewers seem to have a lower population of Red Cobles due to the creatures fighting, and slaughtering, each other to claim the sewers as their territory. Large towns people should avoid large burrows found under bushes in parks. These have been dug out by goblin to hide during daylight hours.

When night falls on the town these goblins come out to hunt. Human flesh, and in particular, that of children and babies are the ideal meat. When they can't sneak into homes to find food, they will hunt the homeless, or a drunkard stumbling around after a night at the tavern. Whomever the victim will be, it is always someone that the goblin will have no problem taking down. They will never put themselves at risk, unless in the afore mentioned fits.

Red Cobles are a demented creature. If they find a child they can kill and eat, they will linger in the shadows around the home for morning to hear the wailing of the mother. They relish in killing pets of humans, not for food, but again for the suffering it causes. Their biggest trait, of which they gain their name, is that they enjoy feeling the blood of their victim on their skin. These monsters will take pieces of clothing to soak up the blood. They wear these blood soaked garments as trophies.

Red Cobles hate their own kind as much as they hate every other creature. Some do desire to seek out mates, however. This often leads to the death of one of the goblins. The few cases where two find each other's presence tolerable make a powerful, and deadly alliance. A pair of Red Cobles can hunt deadlier prey without risk.

Red Cobles are the reason most humans of Novyum hate goblin kind so much. While most goblin breeds are nasty creatures, it is the sadistic nature of the Red Coble that take it to the next level.
