Toman Sound
Tomaton Bay
Toman Sound is an inlet of Tobia's Gulf on the coast of Lhakamed in Tinjir. Though the low hills on either side of the sound do little to shield the waters from the harsh winter storms of the gulf, its deep waters stay relatively calm, making a good haven for ships to survive the deadliest of these storms.
With much of the Lhakamed shoreline plagued by shallow waters and shoals, Toman Sounds deep waters make it one of the few natural harbors of the land. Its location at the mouth of the Redhand River, a highway of travel through Toemanshire, has made Toman Sound the most important bay of the kingdom.
Tomaton, the capital of Toemanshire is located at the mouth of the river on the shores of the sound. Few argue the importance of Toman Sound to the survival of the kingdom. The sound is the heart of the kingdom's foreign trade and its connection to the rest of the Farlands as a whole.
