Wadites

Old Ones of the Mountain Lakes

Wadites are a tribe of early Human that appeared sometimes after the Gilgurth impact, dwelling in the mountainous region around what is today Wadson Bay. It is believed that the Wadites originated from Enoshate survivors, finding refuge in the mountains after the destruction.

According to scattered accounts, that can be considered closer to legend or myth, there was no Codi Sea or Cony Sea Cony Sea at the time. The land was a great grassy plain. Exposed to Gilgurth's destruction in these flatlands the humans fled to the mountains, east and west. It was some of these survivors that gathered around a great lake that would become the Wadite. Called Lake Wadsen in ancient texts, it is where historians get the name Wadites for the people. Lake Wadsen is universally known to be where Wadson Bay is today.

The Wadites survived in shallow caves in the rocky hills on the west of the lake. These survivors eventually built a settlement over the caves and on the hill side. This settlement was known as Matten. This original Matten's exact location is unknown but is believed to be at the site where modern day Gorgan Fortress stands. Textual evidence from surviving records of both Capedian colonist claim a city of that name once stood on the site when they built their own settlement of Gorgan. Lakortha builders also record artifacts and cave networks that, though circumstantial, could point to the modern city being the site of the ancient Madden.

The Wadites are known to have worshipped Heh, a feminization of the creator God Alu. To them, Lake Wadsen is the birthing canal of the world, where all life originates.
