Warforged

Basic Information

Anatomy

Warforged are bipedal humanoid constructs. A typical warforged has a jointed wooden body with metal plating attached all across its surface as armor. The head is a metal piece with a hinged jaw and dim color lights set in the eye sockets. It is animated by a soul harvested from a living creature.

Genetics and Reproduction

Warforged cannot reproduce amongst themselves. New warforged must be constructed through a process known only to Pilzip Thimblefoot's secret R&D lab. None are currently being constructed due to the requirement of a soul to power a warforged.

Additional Information

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Warforged are primarily found in the Elderhaven Reaches, where they were used as to enforce the Hands of the World's control over the region. Over the course of Orin's reign there, a large percentage of the Elderhaven Reaches' populace was converted into warforged. Many of these were shipped to Freydin, where they were used as an occupying force by the Eyes of the World. After Orochi's death, the warforged armies on those two continents began to recover their sense of self. They are slowly being integrated into the societies of those two nations, though there are still warforged acting on their original programming, and not all citizens of those nations welcome them.

Civilization and Culture

Major Language Groups and Dialects

Warforged innately know a form of communication that has been dubbed Binary.

History

The warforged were created as a joint project between the Eyes of the World and Thimblefoot Enterprises. Because of the pestilential fog barrier surrounding the Elderhaven Reaches, their existence was unknown to the wider world until the warforged army that Orin had been developing beneath the palace in Ferindel surged forth and overtook the city in a blitzkrieg strike. Their forces expanded across Freydin and engaged in an opening skirmish with Adeus to the north, almost resulting in all-out war. Before that could happen, the death of Orochi meant his control over the warforged was broken. Now the warforged are attempting to resettle in a world that views them with some skepticism.
Lifespan
The lifespan of a warforged is currently unknown. In theory, there is no limiting factor on a warforged's lifespan, since any components that rust, rot, or break could be replaced.
