Orochi
The Eight-headed Serpent Orochi
Orochi, also known as the Eight-headed Serpent or the Gray Serpent, followed the four great spirits in crossing from planes unknown into the Elderhaven Reaches in ancient days. Orochi was jealous of the territory and followers the four great spirits amassed for themselves and sought to take them for herself. The other great spirits managed to seal her away, but despite her imprisonment eventually she found a way to extend her influence to the Elderhaven Reaches and beyond through Orin.
Orochi was defeated in her spirit world lair by the Antiheroes, releasing Orin from her clutches and freeing the warforged from her mind control.

Personal history
Early in the history of the world several powerful spirits crossed into the material plane and made their home in the in the Elderhaven Reaches, each settling in one of the cardinal directions. These four spirits were the black turtle Genbu, the vermilion bird Suzaku, the white tiger Byakko, and the azure dragon Seiryu. In their wake several lesser spirits flooded into the material plane. However, a fifth great spirit followed soon after, jealous of the new home the first four found and the respect they had earned from the mortal inhabitants on the land. This fifth spirit was Orochi. Orochi wrought destruction on the people and the land, transforming and corrupting the lesser spirits who preceded her. This angered the four great guardian spirits, who waged a great war against Orochi which split the continent in several parts and sunk many other parts beneath the ocean. Over the course of this conflict, Orochi learned of a wider world beyond the Elderhaven Reaches and began laying plans to expand her influence. Learning of this, the four guardian spirits weaved a powerful spell to create a black fog that would keep Orochi from leaving. The spell worked and Orochi was furious, lashing out with brash and brazen attacks in her anger. The four spirits took that opportunity to seal Orochi beneath the earth where she could never surface and try to exert control over the world again.
The great spirits' plan worked for a time, until the wizard Orin came to the Elderhaven Reaches in search of a way to preserve the tradition of wizardry in his home country of Freydin. Orin organized the Elderhaven Reaches' blood mages under the banner of the Hands of the World, leading them in an effort to claim control over the Elderhaven Reaches and seal the other great spirits within ancient artifacts. Once the Elderhaven Reaches had bowed to their leadership and all of the great spirits other than Genbu had been sealed away, Orin turned his gaze on Freydin and founded the Eyes of the World, a separate group of blood mages responsible for expanding his control outside the Elderhaven Reaches.
Ultimately both Orin and Orochi were defeated by the Antiheroes, who collected the artifacts containing the great spirits and used them to retain their powers even in Orochi's spirit world lair.
