The Man
Irina Derevko's criminal organization. Described as having a base in the Russian Mafia but with unprecedented scope.
The group used the Russian Mafia as a template for sourcing financing. However in terms of tactics, reach, and sophistication the organization runs on an entirely different order of magnitude.
At some point before March 2002, Alexander Khasinau himself infiltrated the partners of The Alliance of Twelve and persuaded them to not take direct action against The Man.
The organization controls more assets than the Russian mafia. Thanks to old Cold War connections with foreign intelligence it has the legitimacy of a fledgling government.
Disbandment
As work proceeded on Virus Mark I, it became apparent that the virus would be a lucrative bioweapon. Irina did not wish to do this, and a power struggle ensued between her lieutenants. Irina removed herself from the situation, after first securing "The Bible," a compilation of all of her assets that could be used to reconstitute her organization. Cuvee, Khasinau, Sark, and others ended up fighting one another for supremacy. While in custody with the CIA, Irina assisted the US Government in dismantling the remains of her organization.
