Personal history

Caiyen is possessed of a nigh unbreakable will. He loyaly served Runiger until he failed in one of his assignments to destroy a Gnomish outpost. He returned scarred and near mortally injured. His mother mocked him for his weakness and branded him a failure. He has since come to despise her and been persuaded by Alquerien that mortal may not be as terrible as he believed.
In the years since his failure he has been the subject of countless beatings, lashings and magical experiments at Runiger's claws. None have forced him to give up and he continues to mock Runiger in her attempts to break him.
Following his Liberation, Caiyen has been enjoying his freedom and has honed his skills in combat so that he might never be subjected to such pain again. To that end he has been seen in the Hammerfall Arena sparring with the unlikely group of Aryzen, Bahamut and Atticus Teclis. The trio of Draconic Warriors worried they may have to hold back against him as he is still recovering but his will to live and endure is great enough they have witnessed his wounds closing through sheer force of will. He has managed to Overpower both Bahamut and Atticus briefly and match Aryzen blow for blow before he needed to stop.
His wounds go beyond the physical and the trio of Elder Dragons have been speaking to him of ways to release the pain within himself. The three of them have heard his tales of other siblings of his that did not survive their treatment under Runiger and how he wishes to never allow those he cares for fall again. He continues to check in with his siblings, Meshier in particular and Bahamut believes that Caiyen is the sole reason that Meshier still has some motivation to continue living. as the younger dragon would not wish their brother to fall into despair, even if they would prefer to end their own life.

History

When Caiyen was branded a Traitor he was left in the Dark Hold beneath Runiger's city. He spent many a year in the darkness, attempting to care for his weaker siblings and failing to give them the strength to carry on or the will to care for themselves. He lost many Brothers and Sisters in the years he was within the Darkness. When he met Meshier he refused to lose another of them, and he spent so much time caring for them.
Meshier did not understand why Caiyen cared so deeply for them, they contemplated ending his suffering of watching them struggle to survive but after a failed attempt he wept for them and told them how much he cared for them. They still did not understand but they resolved to live for their brother.
When Runiger experimented on them, Caiyen begged to be taken in their place but was forced to wait in the dark until Meshier was returned to them. He did not eat for the three days Meshier was absent and when they were returned, bandaged and only barely alive he attacked Runiger, though he only managed to enrage her and add another scar to his body.
Caiyen forewent meals to care for Meshier and attempt to nurse them back to help. He gave them his rations and when their wounds did not heal he did his best to at least keep them as comfortable as possible. Since then Caiyen has often carried Meshier when the younger child needed to be moved, and he has continued to do so, though Meshier has made a habit of wandering off by themself.
