Personal history
Nilcraes was the thirdborn son of his father Marczies Broodmore. In the Broodmore family not being born first does not mean that you will not become the head of the family. The Broodmore family believes that competition is the key to ruling so all siblings compete for the Broodmore title of merchant prince. Nilcraes took this competition to heart and over many decades proved himself the superior sibling and when his father Marczies died he took over as the new merchant prince of the Broodmore family. Nilcraes continued the Broodmore competition as he had 9 children of his own. He was a bad parent and cared more about his legacy than his children.
