Personal history

Vic themself does not know much about where they are from or who their parents are. Vic's first memory is being a young changeling in a world that despises their race. Because of this they had to overcome the dangers of the world alone for a long time. Vic managed to find a place to live near the city of Riverport, they found a small hunters cabin that was abandoned and went on to make it a home. The years alone in the wilderness were rough on Vic, but they managed to find a way to make a living by collecting herbs, fruits and sometimes loot from wrecked ships alongside the river. Vic collected many things and then sold them in Riverport while disguised as a young girl that she had seen traveling on a ship once in their life. By selling a various amount of items and plants Vic managed to make a good enough living for themself and collect weird baubles and trinkets. Vic never made any friends on their journeys into the city, but all that would change in A4 644 when they were caught out looting a wrecked ship by a beautiful young girl. Vic tried to run and hide from the human, but she managed to catch up with Vic and eventually found their home. Vic was scared of the human as their encounters with people were scarce and short, but this one had a friendly attitude and would go on to make conversation with Vic. The two actually managed to make conversation and would end up becoming friends by the end of the day. Over the next two years Vic and their new and only friend Emma Cloudfang would become close and eventually become lovers. Vic was very happy with Emma and enjoyed everything about her, Emma didn't love Vic for their abilities or some persona Vic had to put on, but rather Vic in their normal shape. Emma never wanted Vic to change into someone else or make a persona when they were together, only when they ventured into the city together or were caught in the woods by strangers to keep Vic safe. Vic found meaning in their life when they were with Emma and treasured every moments together and every night spent stargazing. Everything was perfect until a late autumn night when the two of them were stargazing and fooling around. While distracted a dark clad man with an iron mask with only a simple smile on it snuck up on them, Vic tried to scream but was frozen in fear as they saw the man stabb Emma repeatedly in the chest until she collapesed on the ground dead, bleeding all over the grass and picknick towel. Vic tried to help, but was paralyzed in fear, until the man came towards them. Vic ran for their life and managed to loose the man in Riverport after chaning into a random commoner.
Vic's life changed forever after that gruesome night. They decided to not tell Emma's parents about what had happened and about her death as Vic couldn't bear them knowing what had happened nor revealing themself to them. Vic carried Emma's corpse to their hut and made a beautiful grave for her. The grave would be unmarked to make sure nobody ever knew who had died, but Vic would never forget her. Vic made sure to leave a not to Emma's parents about her leaving the city to pursue her dreams and study trade and economy under different professionals. Vic also never told anyone about Emma's murder, but would learn who did it, the man was known as the Riverport Reaper, a local serial killer that mostly killed young girls who were "unpure" in his mind. Vic was disgusted by that taught, but couldn't do much about it. Vic left Riverport and everything behind, except the goals and dreams Emma and talked about when they were together. Vic knew nothing of their own life and had no goals except those destroyed by the Riverport Reaper. Vic therefore decided to stop living their own life and instead live the life of Emma. Vic wanted her dreams and hopes to live on so that Emma could never really die for Vic. This was the only thing that made sense for Vic. So the next five years Vic traveled the world to learn economics and trade, Vic would work small jobs for the empire and other organizations, but not for long, only to learn enough to continue their journey. It was first in A4 650 they found something worth doing, Vic learned of a village named Brinehold and its need for a shopkeeper. Vic traveled to this village and met a man named Dha’rio Lamachett who ran it in the absence of its true rulers. Vic tried to be as charming and smart as possible, using everything they are learned over the last years to get the job. By the end Vic had managed to sell silverware worth 200 gold to Dha'rio and got the job. It was the biggest achivement on their journey and was very happy with it.
Vic worked at the general store for two years until everything went south again. During a purple night Vic's form shifted infront of a customer, the customer screamed in terror and yelled abomination at Vic and threatened to get the guards. Vic was scared and didn't know what to do, so they grabbed a crossbow close by and shot a lucky shot through the door window and into the skull of the fleeing man, killing him instantly. The man rose as an undead and went on to make quite the scene in the village, after it was dealt with the rulers of the town investigated the incident and found Vic in their room. Vic tried to convince them about the accident, and for a time everything seemed to work out well. But after some trouble with the bronze guard of The Kingdom of Evlora the people who tried to help Vic were taken in. Vic wanted to use this oppurtunity to escape, but couldn't, too much of Emma was still in Vic and they handed themself in to stop the conflict. Luckily their life was saved and Vic would only be banished from Brinehold. Now Vic travels the world looking for any reason, regretting much of what happened and the consequences brought upon Emma's legacy.
