La Mercantes Noctres

La Mercantes Noctres (the night merchants), were an undergroud criminal organization known to the outside world as smugglers, thieves, and mercenaries. To most they were no more than a legend, but to the many patrolmen who lived to bring them down, they were heathens who must be brought to justice. Though not a traditional family organization, La Mercantes Noctres were known to support their own, often paying for the education of younger members in order to better infiltrate higher society. Many desperate individuals arrived seeking favor or protection within their ranks. If they managed to prove their loyalty and worth, they would be initiated into the organization with a contract that, if broken, signaled their deaths. Despite its infamy, the organization was notorious in and around Bayt Alma for their chilling competence, and they often took jobs from elites looking to gain political capitol by means of assassination or framing opponents in a negative light. However, all knew that their loyalties could not be bought, only loaned to the highest bidder whom they had no qualms of turning on for promise of higher pay.
Notable members include Omah Silguero, who later deserted the organization primarily to ensure the safety of their adopted child, Afia.
