Omah Silguero
Omah Silguero was born to unknown parents. They grew up in rural Vencerrado, and are rumored to have left their village at the age of twelve in pursuit of a better life for their family. They made their way to Bayt Alma and, after a couple run-ins with law enforcement for petty theft, they were taken in by La Mercantes Noctres (the night merchants), an underground gang who made a living smuggling, sabotaging, and occasionally assassinating in service to the highest bidder. Many desperate individuals arrived seeking favor or protection, and became engulfed in their activities, Omah among them. They were often designated to play the role of a peasant child seeking assistance, distracting the target as their goods were pilfered.
At the age of fifteen it was discovered that Omah had some level of magical prowess, and the mercantes sponsored a brief apprenticeship for them to develop their ability, although this was short lived as they came to disapprove of magical practice due to the inequality that inevitably followed its cultivation. In the year 723, A border skirmish broke out between Bayt Alma and the organization was hired to defend the property of the wealthy Melcor family which sat within the scope of the war zone. They ultimately survived the skirmish but left with some physical disfigurements and psychological terrors.
In the aftermath of the war, Omah returned to Venceraddo to find ashes where their home once was. They erected a small memorial and after the designated grieving period, they returned to Bayt Alma and continued to act as a courier, albeit independent from their previous organization.
During one mission they discovered an abandoned and maltreated child, Afia. Afia had no family or possessions to her name, so Omah decided to accept her as a companion on their many adventures.
The two of them were familiar to most of the underground market as competent thieves with strong personal morals. They were trustworthy when hired out for a job, but the same contractors retained a healthy fear of ending up on the wrong side of their knives.
The two of them traveled much along the western states of Tel Realis, and legends and whispers of them persisted throughout.
Omah retired from the business in their mid seventies and settled down, allowing Afia to care for them now that she had grown into a competent adult of her own.

Afia occasionally refers to Omah simply as "Om", perhaps as a replacement for the typical gendered terms of familial association.
