Master
In a guild structure, the highest rank most members can hope to achieve, and generally only about four in ten manage to do so, is the rank of Master. A Master is acknowledged by their guild to be fully qualified to work alone, operate a business, train apprentices, and supervise other guild members. Achieving this rank usually requires a combination of time in the profession, demonstration of competency in some form and often demonstration of financial wherewithal to operate an independent business.
