8.0 - Casting Shadows

OG notes: party departs east for the port city to take them to the next continent where they can plant the gray seed. Some monster encounters along the way. Once in port town, they should have an option to help forest town before leaving.   The party should have the chance to still explore Lyston, or get the rest of their money from the merchants. I need to give something for Holg at the very least. Would be nice to get something for Kallista as well.Sil'Ferrous should be good with shopping and studying, so keep the possibility of the The Varlsaeum being accessible. Atani is thinking about performing for extra coin and looking for brewing ingredients.   (Sailing = 3 days) If they go to the docks, they will likely catch a glimpse of Zaru (and it's odd that he's here again soon. He was just here last cycle; he doesn't typically make back-to-back trips). If they are looking for a boat, they'll find a captain, Sura Shesh, heading to Klarhavon with a load of salt. For today, she needs to unload last cargo from Vira's Aspiration (safe traveling in the waves of the Servitor), and load the salt. Tomorrow is the absolute last day to leave before the waters become too treacherous and most sea-travel is forbade. But she's got Curious Snowflake, Hearty's daughter, to use nature magic and get them safely across the water.   Walking = 6 days (to Hvithavon)) If they take the land path, they encounter will have to contend with Hearty's demon. I need to give them some hint that it's Heart this time. After that, they'll have to deal with the bandits. Bandits are trying to survive against the pop up of water rifts near the river and lake. They will have a nature mage (maybe a druid) that uses his power to close the rift, but it breaks him. This pushes Kilith to make a decision on Release or not. Kallista will also feel the pull of the Yoke and learn that she can close rifts without using magic.

Plot points/Scenes

  They will wake up after a long rest. If they all split up and do their thing, fine. Be ready to juggle that. Let's break this down by person.   Atani: She can get her brewer's supplied from the general supply store or the brewery. Performance would go over better in the arts district.   Holg: He can find books on necromancy from the book store. Or, he can attend a lecture. Or, the The Varlsaeum will have books on it, and specifically more research on the use of restoration magics and how they have failed. And attempts at resurrection don't fix the mind.   He should have a dream about the ticking of those clocks, a vision of himself growing younger and seeing his mother, then that loop repeating. A peace coming upon his mind every time time rewinds in the vision.   Kallista: She can end up getting intel on Paritet's perspective of recent events. Word that it's weird the Servitor would be so insistent to pursue such a lowly criminal as that elf. He's been more erratic. But they say this very hushed.   Kilith: I think is set right now.   Sil'Ferrous: Let him sell the things for whatever the price is in the PHB. If he wants to do research, same as Holg. There's the book store, but there's also the The Varlsaeum. Depends on what books he's looking for. He might actually get more use from the workshops.  
  If they go too deep into the library of the The Varlsaeum then they will bump into Asriya doing research on Lystonse, a very old book with faded ink and written in Old Common. She will recognize them, probably, but not care about the bounty. Instead, she's more interested in what they found under the statue in Isjorbe. She'll leave them alone, claiming something to attend to. She'll exit the room, and vanish. She's very keen to meet them again and get an account of things.  
  After a few days of holding the seeds, they can start to feel some sort of resonance with them. No powers from them yet, but maybe soon.
