Ashcanesh

The Ashcanesh is the foundational myth of the Amnari Alliance. It is unusual as myth in that it details both the end of the world and the beginning of a new one. The word itself means "Beginning and End", referring to a cyclical understanding of reality as continually being formed and destroyed by the Divines Sankanthara and Iastraphe, the Gods of Creation and Destruction. The myth makes up the most significant part of The Rending of the World, which in itself includes The Rending War, the Rending, and the later establishment of the Amnari Alliance. As "The Beginning and the End", the Ashcanesh points to the dramatic moment when any world or reality ends and then triggers the rise of the next one.

Summary

The Ashcanesh covers the final days of the Rending War, up to the Rending itself. It is a condensed version, since the events must have taken far longer than just fourteen days to unfold. The Ashcanesh formally begins with the arrival of The One Hundred Thousand at Rooks and Kings Ruins, heeding the call from High Ashad Isha to seek shelter with her and her supporters in the Keshwari Central Tir.

Historical Basis

Although the Rending War began multiple decades previously and the historical events detailed by the Ashcanesh cannot possibly have occurred in the fourteen-day timeframe allowed.
