Culture and cultural heritage
Their ancestors came from the west on ships in order to escape persecutionbecause of their worship of Ahnadhus. When the Dagdarí arrived in Órlekanú from the south, they brought with them the Kíans as their slaves. The slave trade eventually spread to Gaenel where It became much more ruthless than in Dagdír.
Shared customary codes and values
They are generally tolerant gorup of people. However, their views become more radical deeper into the mountains. They think of themselves as the superior race and arent't afraid of confrontation about it, particularly when it comes to the Kíans.
Funerary and Memorial customs
The dead are laid to rest in small family tombs as the ground is often to rocky to dig deep enough for a burial. In some areas burial underground would be possible. To the Gaenans, burial in the ground is seen as disrespectful as the dead are lying on dirt.
Villages will often have communual barrows where everyone is laid to rest with family members placed as close as possible to each other.
Loved ones are buried with personal possesions such as jewlery, knives and anything else the person held dear. In poor communities, possesions are only buried if they're not worth selling.
