Odasvale
Geography
Odasvale is a rolling green valley with gentle slopes, measuring about two hundred miles East-West and three hundred miles North-South. It is bordered by Gomos' Gap to the north, the ominous Flindwood Forest to the West, the enchanted woods of Nenrie to the south, and the forbidden Fomhar woods to the East.
Four major rivers flow through the valley, all starting in snowcapped mountains and running southward towards Nenrie. They are, from West to East: Bitewater, Heartflow, The Lirimaul, and Witchwater.
At the heart of the valley is an old growth of forest, called the Great Boarwood. It has a few boars but is neither great nor filled with Boars. Instead, it's a hideout for brigands, poachers, and the occasional gnoll warband.
Fauna & Flora
Surrounding the valley are great forests of oak and beech trees (mostly to the west) along with pine, birch, poplar and willow trees (to the south-east). Broom, gorse, and bracken are common in places that have been farmed for hundreds of years.
The foothills and mountains are home to brown bears, chamois, marmots, and alpine hares. The woods are home to polecats and martens, wild boars, and various deer. Hedgehogs, foxes, weasels, bats and squirrels, rabbits mice otters and beavers can be found along the rivers. Most of the birdlife of the valley is migratory, with warblers, thrushes, magpies, owls, buzzards and gulls, at times. The mountains have eagles and falcons, and there are pheasants and partridges in the southern reaches. The rivers teem with salmon, eels, pike, perch, carp and trout.
Natural Resources
Odasvale is an ideal place for mortals to live. There is fresh water in abundance, provided by multiple rivers. The land is fertile and easily tilled. There is ample wood in the surrounding forests, though it may have to be hauled a significant distance in the larger plains of the valley. Stone is available in the foothills and mountains, along with mineral wealth in the Sonril mountains and the Crags.
Sheep and cows thrive here in the rolling hills, and wild game including pheasants & quail, geese, deer, badgers & voles, and other beasts.
