Hodeth Belt

The Hodeth Belt is a large torus-shaped region of the Elpis System which contains a large number of dust and asteroids. It is nevertheless a sparce area where spacecraft have little difficulty crossing. Most of the mass of the Belt is located in its five main asteroids - the two biggest being Borbonica and Phi Hygeia.   Many of the easily prospectable minerals required to sustain interplanetary travel and economies across the Elpis system are located on worlds beyond the Belt. At such, it is often seen as an unspoken frontier between the colonized inner worlds and the wild, rugged expanse that lies beyond, even though in reality the line is often blurred.   Two of the main asteroid clusters within the Belt are the Hygeia Cluster and Wayward Belt systems.   Most of the stations in the Belt are inhabited by Reiki Hiderid or Zaalan spacer tribes, where the low-gravity environments outside of diving ships (coupled with some economic factors) have caused changes in the inhabitants' physiology over time.
